William and Kate Middleton had been dating for more than 8 years now and its just right that they get married. They are both 28 years old. The palace announced that their wedding will be next year's (2011) spring or summer.
The sapphire and diamond engagement ring belonged to his late mother, Diana. "I thought it was quite nice because obviously she's not going to be around to share any of the fun and excitement of it all. This was my way of keeping her close to it all," William said.They have publicly announced their engagement in a televised interview. The interview reminded many of a similar TV appearance by William's parents, Prince Charles and Diana, shortly after they became engaged.
