A combination of classic stars that included Mick Jagger and Barbra Streisand with young faces like Katy Perry Justin Bieber and increased the audience of the Grammy music awards to its highest ratings in 10 years.
In fact, the CBS television network reported that about 26.55 million people tuned their TVs in the U.S. for Canadian rockers Arcade Fire take the trophy for Best Album with his album 'The Suburbs'.
The total audience was up 3 percent compared to approximately 25.87 million recorded in 2010, says CBS.
The public could see the singer Mick Jagger pay tribute to his late colleague, Solomon Burke singing "Everbody Needs Somebody 'and Justin Bieber in a duet with Jaden Smith.
In recent years, organizers decided to reduce the amount of awards given in the televised version of the show, to give emphasis to the proceedings and, thus, maintain the harmony of the public.
The winners this year included some of the biggest names in the world of pop music, hip-hop, rap, country and rock. Among the other singers featured Lady Gaga, Eminem.
Nearly 26.55 million people watched the Grammys in the U.S..
